Summer Camp Program Information
Summer Camp will be offered to children entering Grades K–8. Our program provides a fun, active, and engaging environment filled with recreation, creativity, outdoor play, and social connection.
In addition to our traditional camp programming, we will also offer a Special Teen Program designed specifically for youth entering Grades 6–8. This program will focus on age-appropriate activities, leadership opportunities, skill-building experiences, and social engagement tailored to older campers.
This year’s Summer Camp will include exciting field trips along with a full schedule of fun and engaging activities such as outdoor recreation, crafts, games, and social programming designed to keep campers active and connected throughout the summer.
Program Dates & Hours:
June 29th – August 21st
Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (unless otherwise noted)
Full-Time Registration:
Full-time registrants are responsible for all eight (8) weeks of the program as specified at the time of registration, regardless of attendance.
Field Trips/Pricing
All planned field trips are included within the Summer Camp program fee. Families will not be charged additional fees for scheduled trips unless optional activities or special events are announced in advance.
We are excited to expand our programming by offering a variety of fun and engaging field trips this summer. Permission slips will be required for certain trips and must be completed and returned prior to participation. Please ensure your child is properly prepared for each trip according to the instructions provided.

Field trips are subject to change due to weather conditions, staffing availability, cancellations, and/or transportation availability.
Pick-Up & Drop-Off Procedures
Drop-off begins at 7:30 AM and pick-up is at 5:00 PM at the Farmington Parks & Recreation Department. The program entrance is located on the side of the building connected to the rear parking lot.
Children may not be dropped off prior to 7:30 AM. Farmington Parks & Recreation staff are not responsible for children outside of scheduled program hours. For the safety of all participants, children must never be left unattended before or after program hours.
All children must be signed in and signed out daily by a parent/guardian or authorized individual. Participants will only be released to adults listed on the child’s registration form. If a new individual will be picking up your child, the Recreation Department must be notified in advance and the individual must present a valid photo ID at pick-up.
If you would like your child to have permission to sign themselves out at the end of the day, this authorization must be indicated on the online registration form.
Pick-up must occur no later than 5:00 PM.
Program Fees & Payment Policies
A non-refundable registration fee will be added to your cart at the time of registration.
Prior to the start of camp, the registration fee and deposit must be paid in full. Camp fees can be broken down weekly are due prior to the beginning of each scheduled week.
No refunds will be issued once Summer Camp has begun.
Late Pick-Up Policy
Programs require adherence to scheduled pick-up times. Late pick-ups create staffing and safety challenges; therefore, the following policy will be enforced:
First Offense:
- Up to 10 minutes late: Written warning documented by the Recreation Department.
- More than 10 minutes late: Treated as a second offense.
Second Offense:
- $5.00 fee for every five (5) minutes late.
(Example: 10 minutes late = $10.00 fee)
Third Offense:
- $10.00 fee for every five (5) minutes late.
(Example: 10 minutes late = $20.00 fee)
Additional Offenses:
- Continued late pick-ups may result in dismissal from the program.
Discipline: *It is our goal to provide a physically and emotionally safe place for all participants. We ask participants to respect themselves, others and our environment, by following the rules and instructions given during trips/activities and using appropriate language. Inappropriate behavior will be addressed immediately. Consequences may include participants being sent home, restricted from transportation, and/or suspended from future activities without a refund.
Open communication is encouraged between staff and parents. * The Recreation Department will have a very strict “hands off policy” any fighting or other unsafe behavior may result in immediate dismissal from Recreation Programs.
Detailed below are examples of some serious and minor behaviors and the consequences that could follow.
Serious Offenses (including but not limited to):
- Endangering the safety of another camper or staff
- Verbal abuse of another camper or staff
- Stealing or destruction of property
- Any issue that occurs that is considered serious by Camp Staff or Recreation Directors.
Serious Offense Consequences “3 strike policy”
- Incident report filled out and placed on file in the Recreation Office and the child misses the next day of camp.
- Incident report filled out and placed on file in the Recreation Office, parents will meet with the Recreation Director and the child will miss the next two days of camp.
- Incident report filled out and placed on file in the Recreation Office, parents may meet with the Recreation Director and the child may be removed from summer camp.
Medications: If your child needs to take medications during program hours, they must be listed on their registration form. Recreation Department staff will not dispense your child’s medications if the form is not complete. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MEDICATIONS IN WITH YOUR CHILD! PLEASE HAND THEM DIRECTLY TO A RECREATION STAFF MEMBER WITH WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS.
Minor Offenses (including but not limited to):
- Minor Offenses (including but not limited to):
- Talking back to staff.
- Not following directions.
- Leaving an activity area without permission.
- Any other negative behaviors that may occur during the day.
*We reserve the right to remove any child from our camp if behavior is continuously a problem for our staff.
Sunscreen & Bug Repellent
Because a large portion of our program takes place outdoors, all participants must bring sunscreen and bug repellent with them daily.
It is the policy of the Farmington Parks & Recreation Department that sunscreen be applied prior to prolonged outdoor activities and monitored throughout the day. Recreation staff will not provide sunscreen to participants who do not bring their own.
Staff may only assist with sunscreen application if a completed and signed sunscreen authorization waiver is on file. Participants are strongly encouraged to wear t-shirts or protective clothing to reduce the risk of sun exposure and sunburn.
The Farmington Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to send a participant home if they refuse to apply sunscreen or if continued sun exposure presents a safety concern or risk of injury. Parents who choose to opt their child out of sunscreen use must provide written documentation stating such.
Emergency Information
While serious accidents are not anticipated, preparation is essential. Parents/guardians are required to complete all emergency contact and medical information during registration. Providing accurate and complete information allows staff to respond quickly and appropriately in the event of illness, injury, or emergency.
Lunch & Snacks
Lunch is generally scheduled between 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM, with all participants eating together.
Participants must bring:
- A packed lunch
- A drink
- Multiple healthy snacks for the day
Please pack foods that require minimal refrigeration. Each child should bring their own labeled lunch cooler and thermos to allow easy access to drinks throughout the day.
Soda and energy drinks are not permitted.
Clothing Requirements
Participants should be dressed appropriately for outdoor activities and changing weather conditions. Please ensure your child brings:
- A jacket or sweatshirt daily
- Proper footwear suitable for active play
- Rain gear when weather conditions are uncertain
Some activities may involve water; therefore, a change of clothes or bathing suit is recommended.
All participants must wear appropriate clothing at all times. Shirts must be worn during camp activities, and bathing suits must be appropriate for a youth program setting.
Personal Items
The Farmington Parks & Recreation Department is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. Participants are encouraged to leave valuable or unnecessary items at home.
Lice Policy
Any participant found to have lice or nits will be sent home and must remain out of the program for a minimum of 24 hours while treatment is completed. All lice and eggs (nits) must be fully removed before the participant may return to camp.
